Clearing four rounds of the plot isn't actually a problem (I'm currently on the third round), but the book just isn't attracting volume. The steady 5:1 ratio of paid-to-following readers proves that the plot itself isn't the issue. The readers who are following the updates actually quite enjoy this kind of plot—hiding one's light, watching the clouds and wind, or stirring up the storm.

If I hadn't had one hiatus and several single-update days, combined with the smart recommendation and that big wave at 100,000 words, the results should have been even better.

If that were the case, I could have held on a bit longer to see how many followers I'd have by the end of the PK, and maybe I could have even brushed against the threshold for the Sanjiang Award (a man's gotta dream, hehe).
