The Immortal Me Speedruns Supernatural Games

Chapter 6: The Craziest Testimony!

"Where was that woman taken? How did you control the lights?"

Voices of questioning rose from the crowd.

The eerie atmosphere in this classroom was truly bizarre and hair-raising; most people were flustered when faced with an unknown entity like a [Ghost].

However, among the murderers, there was a small group that remained calm and observant.

They were the brains of this bunch.

Wu Wang naturally couldn't ignore their questions; otherwise, it would only be a matter of time before they all turned on him.

Right now, time was the one thing he lacked most.

"She probably went to find the boss for a resurrection match. It was just a joke earlier; she wasn't a vengeful spirit. I was just running an experiment, and I didn't expect such an accident to happen," Wu Wang replied, his smile remaining unchanged.

He then pointed to the spotlight overhead and continued, "The lights aren't under my control either. I deduce that the classroom is simply responding to the [Accusation]."

As soon as these words were spoken, the breathing around him became noticeably more rapid.

Experiment. Accident.

These two words were so cold that they made the others reveal their murderous intent toward Wu Wang without reservation.

No one wanted to be a lab rat, especially at a time of life and death.

"Then what were you experimenting on? Would you mind sharing?"

A man with a plain appearance, a slightly thin build, and a scholarly look wearing glasses stepped forward to ask.

It was his voice that had asked the previous question as well.

The look in his eyes as he stared at Wu Wang was full of calm, appearing completely out of place among the surrounding murderers who glared like hungry wolves.

It wasn't that he wasn't angry about being treated like a lab rat; it was just that he knew killing Wu Wang right now served no purpose.

Moreover, he had sensed that this seemingly insane youth was actually very clever.

Clever enough to realize that if he didn't provide some information to appease the crowd, the hungry wolves around him wouldn't let him off easily.

"Of course! My friend!" Wu Wang grinned even more brightly. "As an apology, I will share two clues with you all."

Wu Wang liked dealing with smart people.

Because crushing their self-righteous intelligence was a very fun thing to do.

"One: The medium the ghost uses to kill is—the shadow."

Having said that, he pointed to the spot where the woman had disappeared and explained, "The reason I used her for the experiment was that when the first victim appeared, her shadow shook abnormally."

"With a stable light source, her shadow trembled at a high frequency for a full three seconds. Excluding the possibility of a loose connection in the purple light, this trembling was highly abnormal."

No one cared about the double entendre in Wu Wang's words.

They were all contemplating the credibility of the information.

Shadow trembling...

Indeed, no one had noticed such details. After all, there were fifty people in the classroom at the start, and under the glare of the lights, everyone's shadows were tangled and everywhere.

They were too busy being vigilant against attacks from others to have time to look at the shadows under their feet.

"Is that why you were having people play the shadow-stepping game earlier..." The bespectacled man immediately realized the purpose behind the other's seemingly childish actions.

*Snap—*

Wu Wang snapped his fingers.

He responded with satisfaction, "Exactly. Their shadows started to tremble too. Before that, these people had all coincidentally come into contact with that woman's shadow."

"The ghost is hiding inside her shadow!"

With that said, the death rule was clear.

[Do not touch abnormal shadows.]

Seeing the expressions on everyone's faces change, though some still held hesitant gazes, Wu Wang didn't say much more.

He simply walked silently to a corpse, bent down, and ripped off the person's shoe with a *swish*.

Immediately, the sour stench of sweaty feet permeated the air.

But everyone's attention wasn't on the smell.

Because they discovered that the soles of the corpse's feet were covered in blood, the skin mangled and torn in a nauseating way, with raw flesh exposed to the point where the toe bones were vaguely visible.

"Except for the first person who was severely injured and killed when the ghost stepped on their shadow's face, every victim since then has had injuries on the soles of their feet. The feet connect to the shadow; the ghost follows the shadow into the body to kill them, or even hides inside the target."

"This method is extremely covert, and it also reveals one piece of information—"

"The ghost is becoming smarter."

When he finished saying this, Wu Wang even felt a phantom pain in the soles of his own feet.

Because he, too, had been repeatedly killed by the ghost drilling into his soles through his shadow.

That was the only way he could be certain the victims' injuries were on their feet.

Wu Wang's words were like a giant boulder thrown into a calm lake, causing a thousand ripples.

Even those who had remained calm began to breathe rapidly.

The ghost can actually get smarter?!

How are they supposed to survive this?

In an instant, everyone scrambled to adjust their positions, avoiding letting their own shadows touch the scattered corpses on the ground.

After all, quite a few people had already died.

Fortunately, the classroom was large enough that even with thirty or so people dead, there was still plenty of space for them to move and hide.

Some of the bolder ones used the tools in their hands to carefully pry open the shoes of the corpses, discovering that it was indeed as Wu Wang had said: the soles of every corpse were mangled and bloody.

The chaos and inspections lasted for about twenty minutes.

Watching these once arrogant and conceited murderers show expressions of fear, Wu Wang nodded, thoroughly enjoying it.

He grinned, returning to his smile, and said, "Of course, don't be discouraged just because you heard one piece of bad news..."

Just as everyone thought he was about to say some encouraging good news, Wu Wang's tone shifted into mockery

"Because I have another piece of even worse news here. You can despair after you hear it."

The others: "?"

Before Wu Wang could continue, the familiar loud noise occurred again.

*Thud—*

The classroom turned pitch black.

The spotlight went out again!

Fortunately, with the previous experience, everyone remained quiet from the very first moment.

*Tap, tap, tap—*

The familiar sound of tap dancing echoed through the familiar scene.

Everyone wore a look of helplessness.

Needless to say, they knew who was moving now.

Only that guy would dare to "ignore" the death rules so recklessly.

"Moshi moshi, it's time for my stand-up comedy routine again. Did you miss me, audience?" A cheeky voice came from the microphone.

Unsurprisingly, Wu Wang's figure appeared on the podium once more.

In his eyes was a touch of madness and mockery that others couldn't fathom.

"Let's continue. The other piece of bad news is that the [Allotted Time] for the mission is running out," Wu Wang said, squinting into the darkness below.

Allotted time?

A question mark appeared in everyone's minds.

To be honest, they hadn't found any clocks or anything of the sort in this classroom.

How was this [Allotted Time] determined?

Only the scholarly man with glasses walked silently onto the podium and calmly retorted, "The days are getting longer, and the nights are getting shorter?"

It seemed this guy had also noticed that one could speak normally on the podium.

Wu Wang didn't stop him from coming up.

Instead, he nodded with satisfaction and smiled

"Eh, not bad. I'm appreciating you more and more. The first night lasted 10 minutes, the second only 7 minutes, and this one is estimated to be at most 4 minutes." He counted on his fingers, listing the timeline like a connoisseur: "Conversely, the daytime has extended from the initial 10 minutes to 20 minutes."

The others were stunned.

They hadn't expected this madman's observation skills to be so terrifying. It was one thing to notice the anomaly in the shadows, but he had actually remembered the duration of the first day?

That meant Wu Wang had been counting the time in his head from the moment he woke up!

He must have developed some kind of habit to be like this.

Damn it! What does he actually do in real life? A professional killer?

The bespectacled man frowned: "Isn't that a good thing?"

The others had the same thought.

Right, being able to see everything during the day is much better than fumbling around in the dark, isn't it?

Wu Wang just shook his head and sighed, tapping the microphone to produce a harsh buzzing sound: "But [Accusations] can only be made at night, because that's the only time the [Ghost's] location can be determined."

"What!?"

Hearing this, their faces turned deathly pale.

If what this kid said was true, then according to the frequency of the time changes he described, wouldn't the next night last at most a minute or even less?

Until eventually, there would be no more night, making it impossible to make an [Accusation].

Isn't this a dead end!?

Just as everyone was showing expressions of despair, only the bespectacled man retained a shred of reason.

He lunged forward, almost face-to-face with Wu Wang, his eyes bloodshot as he stared fixedly at the youth's lifeless, dead-fish eyes. Gritting his teeth, he asked word by word: "Then how long do you intend to play this game!"

"Play? What makes you say that?" Wu Wang asked playfully, though his gaze kept shifting downward.

"You already know where the [Ghost] is, right! Stop beating around the bush. When the time is up, you'll be finished too! Don't tell me you actually want to die!?" the bespectacled man asserted.

But what he heard was Wu Wang's disappointed sigh.

"I do want to die, but unfortunately, I've already tried. This classroom can't help me fulfill that dream."

"?"

Before the bespectacled man could understand what that meant, Wu Wang suddenly raised his hand and pressed it onto his shoulder, followed by a strange force that pushed him off the podium.

Stumbling to steady himself in the darkness, the bespectacled man did his best to calm his emotions to avoid making a sound out of impulse, his bloodshot eyes still fixed on the youth on the stage.

He didn't believe this guy would really use death as a price just to watch them panic!

Time ticked away, second by second.

When only the last thirty seconds of the four-minute limit remained, Wu Wang finally spoke.

"I accuse..."

The corner of the bespectacled man's mouth curled into a smile.

Sure enough, he had won the bet.

This bastard just wanted to mess with them; he didn't want to die at all.

But then, his smile was wiped away by the movement of the other's finger.

"The [Ghost] is hiding right here!"

The youth pointed to the floor of the podium directly beneath him.

To be precise, he pointed at Wu Wang's own shadow.

"Bastard! What the hell are you trying to do! You lunatic! Do you want to drag everyone down with you?" The bespectacled man finally couldn't help but curse loudly.

The bespectacled man had naturally observed that anyone accused of being the [Ghost] would disappear and die on the spot.

But he hadn't expected Wu Wang to accuse himself at a time like this!

Is this guy really a suicidal psychopath?!

"Shh... quiet."

"Let me tell you all a secret."

Wu Wang's voice was low and magnetic.

After accusing his own shadow, he continued to say something into the microphone that made everyone's brains shrink—

"Regarding the hidden fourth rule of death."

"!???"
