Chapter 53: A Melee

"Who do you think you are, daring to block our path!?" Goz shouted angrily.

"You're the ones getting in our way!" Musashi's voice projected from inside the Meowth Robot. "We're going after that kid right now. If you know what's good for you, get out of here!"

As she spoke, the upper body of the robot began to spin. Two massive mechanical cat paws, acting like blade fans, generated a powerful hurricane!

Watching this machine, Xia You couldn't help but give a silent thumbs-up.

He truly had no idea where they had managed to scavenge such equipment in such a short amount of time.

"Dammit!" The intense wind pressure blew off the hats of the Team Bird Matrix members. Delayed by this distraction, they watched helplessly as the freight train sped past on the adjacent tracks. Goz yelled, "You dare sabotage our operation? I will report this to the Leader exactly as it happened!"

"What on earth are you talking about!" Kojiro looked down at Goz through the glass canopy. "We are performing a mission here. When did we sabotage anything?"

Since things had already come to this, no matter how furious Goz was, it was useless. He could only settle for a secondary target: Xia You.

However, when his gaze fell upon Xia You again, he realized that after the high-intensity combat, their Pokémon were in a disadvantageous position!

"Squirtle! Use Water Gun! Bulbasaur, use Razor Leaf!"

The ones to first break through were Squirtle and Bulbasaur. As a Water and Grass combination, these two could deal quadruple damage to a Ground and Rock-type like Aggron!

Even though Aggron was a second-stage evolution, its extreme clumsiness caused it to collapse from exhaustion under the continuous onslaught of the two Pokémon.

"Tch!" Seeing this, a member of Team Bird Matrix could only recall it with a Poké Ball.

"Everyone, don't let your guard down! He's only one person! We absolutely cannot lose to him!" Goz shouted words of encouragement. However, just as he finished speaking, another Pokémon fell.

To'sli (Toxicroak), a Poison and Fighting-type, lasted only a few rounds before being pinned to the ground by Kirlia's Psychic powers, unable to fight back at all!

These two Pokémon had retreated quickly due to type advantages, but the other three were not so easy to deal with.

First was Delcatty. As a Normal-type, while it lacked specific elemental advantages, no type other than Fighting could deal multi-fold damage to it. Furthermore, this seemingly plump cat possessed an agility that defied its appearance; on the field, only Jolteon could keep up with its pace.

The two Pokémon chased and entangled each other, disappearing into parts of the battlefield unknown!

Next was Skuntank. This Poison and Dark-type combination also prevented Xia You's Pokémon from dealing extra damage. Coupled with its Stench ability, every attack was accompanied by a foul odor that made it impossible for other Pokémon to get close!

Finally, there was Goz's Aggron.

This Pokémon was indeed powerful. Although it was at a type disadvantage against Gyarados, it had managed to seize the upper hand.

"Aggron! Use Iron Tail!" At Goz's command, Aggron relied on its remaining willpower to swing its tail, striking Gyarados heavily on the head!

Gyarados let out a cry of pain, its massive body instantly crashing to the ground.

Just as Goz intended to order Aggron to press its advantage, the giant Meowth Robot happened to step right in front of it.

"Take my Heavy Stomp!" Meowth gave a sinister grin, controlling the robot's legs to repeatedly lift and slam into the ground, creating a continuous series of vibration attacks.

However, instead of finishing off Gyarados, these vibrations dealt massive damage to the Steel and Rock-type Aggron, knocking it to the ground!

"You idiot! What are you doing! Stop it immediately!" Goz cried out in desperation. He tried to rush forward to stop them, but he was also knocked off balance by the shockwaves of the vibrations.

"We're helping you!" Musashi covered her mouth and giggled. "Don't be ungrateful."

"A chance!"

Seeing Aggron fall, Xia You's eyes lit up. While recalling Gyarados with a Poké Ball, he shouted to the approaching Bulbasaur and Squirtle, "Attack now!"

In the next second, a Water Gun and a continuous barrage of Razor Leaves struck Aggron dead center!

Having succeeded with its strike, Meowth controlled the giant Meowth Robot, marching with heavy footsteps toward Skuntank.

Most of Skuntank's moves were close-range attacks, and with Kirlia's assistance, Charmander was barely managing to hold the pressure.

"Skuntank, use Bite!"

Following the loud command of a Team Bird Matrix member, Skuntank suddenly accelerated, opening its large maw to bite fiercely at Charmander.

At that exact moment, the Meowth Robot suddenly stepped between the two Pokémon. Skuntank couldn't stop in time, and its head slammed hard into the robot.

*BANG!!*

The impact was quite heavy. Not only was Skuntank left dizzy, but its proud Stench was completely unable to penetrate the interior of the Meowth Robot!

"Hehehehe..." The Team Rocket trio broke into triumphant laughter.

Only now did everyone present finally realize their intention. Although Xia You found it strange and didn't quite understand, he didn't pay it much mind.

After all, both groups were his enemies. Regardless of who they were, they had to be defeated!

The members of Team Bird Matrix also noticed that Musashi and Kojiro were targeting them at every turn. Frowning, they moved closer to Goz.

"Captain, what should we do?"

"Let's retreat for now." Goz stared at Xia You and said deeply, "Compared to that Interpol agent, this person's strength is indeed formidable. If we keep fighting, we have no chance of winning!"

"But..." One member glanced at the giant Meowth Robot with disgust and said unwillingly, "What about those two?"

"We absolutely cannot let them off this time!" Goz said fiercely. "We will return and report to Miss Bird immediately. The Leader must punish them severely!"

"Yes, sir!"

The members recalled their Pokémon and, along with Goz, retreated into the shadows and disappeared.

"They're really gone?" Watching them leave in a sorry state, Musashi's mood immediately brightened. However, she did not forget her primary objective and turned her gaze back to Xia You. "Now then, finally without those annoying pests to interrupt us. Let us show you our true power!"

With that, the giant Meowth Robot charged straight toward Xia You with heavy strides.
