Hoarding Billions in My Space: Reborn in the 80s to Win Big with My Child
Chapter 11: Business Booms
Shi Zixuan and Shi Zirong smiled at her somewhat bashfully and nodded. "Thank you, Auntie. We want to drink cola too."
"You're welcome."
Shen Yu swiftly poured each of them a glass of iced cola and handed them each a meat bun, telling them to stand in the back to eat.
After attending to the three children, she continued to serve the arriving customers.
Once the three of them had finished their meat buns and drank half a glass of iced cola, they saw the crowd growing and proactively stepped forward to help Shen Yu.
Under the frantic rush of the crowd, the remaining barrels of drinks and food were quickly sold out.
Many people who arrived late missed out on buying anything.
Seeing Shen Yu packing up to leave, they hurriedly asked her, "Boss, when will you come back?"
Shen Yu replied with a kind smile, "I should be back around this time tomorrow."
"Then I'll come back to buy more tomorrow."
"Alright, see you tomorrow then!"
Shen Yu packed everything up, had the three children get into the car, and drove back toward the village.
Sitting in the car, an excited Shi Zichen asked her curiously, "Mom, where did this car come from? How do you know how to drive it?"
Shi Zixuan and Shi Zirong were equally curious; they felt as though their Auntie had suddenly become incredibly capable, almost as if they didn't recognize her anymore.
Shen Yu smiled and replied, "This car is a second-hand one I bought from a friend today. I only learned how to drive after I bought it today. After driving it a few more times, I'll get used to it."
Shi Zichen looked at his mother with eyes full of admiration. "Mom, you learned how to drive in just one day? That's amazing!"
Shi Zixuan also asked Shen Yu with excitement, "Auntie, if I learn to drive, can I learn it in one day too?"
Shen Yu hadn't expected the child to be so naive, so easily swayed by her words.
She quickly told him, "That's not necessarily true. If you want to learn to drive, first, you need a good memory so you can remember what all the different car parts are for."
"Secondly, you need strong manual dexterity. Even in very tense and dangerous situations, you must instinctively remember which is the accelerator and which is the brake."
"The accelerator makes you go forward, and the brake makes you stop. Think about it—if you encounter danger and you're supposed to hit the brake but you stomp on the accelerator instead, the car will lunge forward and hit someone or something. That would be a terrible accident!"
Hearing Shen Yu's scare tactic, Shi Zixuan imagined the terrifying scene. His previous excitement vanished, replaced by fear.
"Then I won't learn it."
Shen Yu comforted him, "It's not that you can't learn, but you must study seriously. You can only drive once you've mastered your skills."
"Auntie had no choice today; I only just learned and jumped straight into driving. You mustn't follow my example. Most people simply can't do that."
Nanshan Bay Old Street was very close to their village. In the time it took to chat, they arrived home.
Shen Yu parked the car in front of her house first and let Shi Zichen go inside.
She then went back to the old house with Shi Zixuan and Shi Zirong to pick up the two younger children.
Before Shen Yu even reached the old house, she saw little Kang Kang and little Shushu sitting side-by-side on the threshold of the main gate.
The two children were gazing longingly into the distance.
When they spotted Shen Yu's familiar figure, they immediately cheered, "Mom! Mom!"
The two children jumped up and ran toward her as fast as they could.
Seeing little Shushu running so fast, Shen Yu feared they might fall and shouted, "Kang Kang, Shushu, don't run! Mommy is coming!"
Having waited for her all day, the two children had nothing but her in their eyes.
They only wanted to hug the mother who had been gone all day; they had no interest in listening to what she had to say.
In a mutual rush, Shen Yu and the two children successfully met, embracing each other tightly.
"Mom..."
"Mom..."
The two children hugged her affectionately, kissing her repeatedly.
The intense attachment and love from the children made Shen Yu's heart swell and her nose sting with emotion.
She kissed them back forcefully. "I'm sorry! Mommy came back late. Let's go tell your Grandma before we go home."
The two children nodded obediently. "Okay~"
While Shen Yu was being affectionate with the children, Shi Zixuan and Shi Zirong had already dashed back into the house.
"Grandpa, Grandma, we're back!"
Liang Sanmei had rested for a day, and her body had mostly recovered.
Hearing her grandsons' voices, she walked out from the kitchen and asked with a smile, "Xuanxuan, Rongrong, you're back. Have you finished your homework?"
Shi Zixuan couldn't wait to tell her, "Grandma, let me tell you! Auntie Xiaoyu bought a little car and was selling soda and cola on the street. We just came back in the car Auntie Xiaoyu was driving!"
Upon hearing this, Liang Sanmei was instantly shocked. "What did you say? Your Auntie Xiaoyu bought a car? Are you joking? Where would she get enough money to buy a car?"
Seeing that his Grandma didn't believe him, Shi Zixuan said anxiously, "I'm telling the truth! We just asked Auntie Xiaoyu, and she said it herself—it's a second-hand car! If you don't believe me, ask Rongrong."
Shi Zirong nodded to Liang Sanmei. "Grandma, Second Brother is telling the truth. Auntie Xiaoyu said it herself; she bought the car."
Liang Sanmei was incredibly shocked, her mind filled with countless question marks.
What was her young daughter-in-law planning?
How could she suddenly afford a car?
Where on earth did she get so much money?
And how did she manage to buy a car?
No! She had to go find Xiaoyu and get a clear answer. If she didn't figure this out, she wouldn't be able to sleep peacefully tonight.
Just as Liang Sanmei was about to rush out the door, she found Shen Yu standing before her, holding the hands of the two children.
Liang Sanmei asked urgently, "Xiaoyu, I heard from Xuanxuan that you bought a car?"
Shen Yu replied with a smile, "Mom, I bought a taxi, but it's old—a second-hand one that's only about fifty percent new. It cost three thousand yuan."
Liang Sanmei was shocked again. "Three thousand? That much? Why on earth would you buy a car?"
Her youngest son had lost his life, and the compensation was only three thousand six hundred yuan. A human life was worth only that much.
Yet, her daughter-in-law had turned around and spent three thousand on an old car.
Liang Sanmei felt a sharp pang in her heart.
Seeing her mother-in-law's poor expression, Shen Yu guessed what she was thinking.
Fearing the elderly woman might get worked up and fall ill, Shen Yu quickly explained, "Mom, don't worry. I bought this old car to do business."
