Great Qin: Starting to Grow Stronger and Achieve Immortality by Picking Up Attributes from the Battlefield
Chapter 57: Zhao Feng: There should be many treasures in the treasury of the King of Han's palace!
As soon as these words fell!
A look of shock appeared on Han Fei's face. "Why will General Li not keep his promise?"
"You are the person the Great King specifically requested. If you die, how am I supposed to account for it to His Majesty?"
"Therefore, please conduct yourself with dignity, Young Master," Li Teng said slowly.
With that, he waved his hand.
A deputy general charged directly in front of Han Fei and snatched the sword from his hand.
"It seems the historical records are true."
"Qin Shi Huang valued Han Fei greatly, but it was precisely this regard that sparked Li Si's jealousy, ultimately leading to Han Fei's assassination by Li Si."
"Han Fei, the master of Legalism, unfortunately perished before he could demonstrate his full potential within the Qin Dynasty."
Despite the distance, Zhao Feng's keen hearing allowed him to hear everything clearly.
Regarding Han Fei's fate, Zhao Feng was naturally well aware.
However, even knowing this, it seemed to have nothing to do with him.
It appeared that Han Fei already harbored a death wish; even if Li Si hadn't acted, Han Fei had no intention of staying alive, let alone being loyal to Qin.
Zhao Feng did not believe that a few words could convince a royal prince and a genius whose fame would shake the world to serve him. To think it was as simple as the ancients imagined would be sheer foolishness.
"Take Lord Han and the Han civil and military officials away. Guard them well!" Li Teng commanded loudly.
"Understood!"
The nearby guards immediately responded, leading Han Fei and the dozens of Han officials away.
Then, Li Teng looked toward the elite soldiers standing guard around them and shouted, "Form ranks! Disperse!"
Under the command of their respective officers, the army dispersed in an orderly fashion.
"Pass my orders!"
"Chen Tao, lead your Company of Captains to garrison and search the royal palace. Evict everyone inside!"
"Once inside the palace, anyone who dares to resist shall be executed without mercy! And command all Han soldiers to drop their weapons and leave the palace!" Li Teng bellowed.
"I obey your command!" Chen Tao responded immediately.
He then looked back at his troops, specifically at Zhao Feng. "Captain Zhao Feng, you lead the vanguard. Liu Wu, you follow behind."
"Understood!" Zhao Feng replied instantly.
Liu Wu, however, appeared somewhat weak, his body covered in various wounds.
After this battle, the vanguard had lost more than half of its strength. Following that, the greatest losses were sustained by Liu Wu's Company of Captains; after the fight, fewer than two thousand of his five thousand elite soldiers remained. In contrast, while nearly all of Zhao Feng's four thousand survivors in his Company of Captains were wounded, they had survived in much greater numbers.
"All military officers, heed my command! Follow me into the palace!" Zhao Feng shouted.
Deep down, Zhao Feng was very curious about the Han Royal Palace. *A King's palace... I wonder if the King of Han had time to move the treasures from the national treasury. If not, couldn't I take a look inside?*
At this thought, a sense of anticipation rose within him.
If it were anyone else, even a general of ten thousand could not carry away the treasures of a palace, but Zhao Feng possessed a personal spatial dimension of nine cubic meters. Currently, it was empty. If there truly were treasures, who would know he was the one who took them?
Zhao Feng's mindset had shifted. For himself and for his future, to fight for his own imperial ambitions, seizing resources was now a key priority.
With large strides, Zhao Feng marched toward the palace.
Behind him, the five military officers also led their troops into the palace.
"The remaining officers shall lead their troops to blockade the capital of Han. No one is permitted to leave without my command!"
"Search every single house!"
"A great reward will be given for finding any trace of the King of Han!"
"I do not believe the King of Han can escape so quickly!" Li Teng shouted coldly.
If Han was destroyed but the King of Han remained at large, it would be a failure for him; it would tarnish his military achievements in conquering a nation. Naturally, Li Teng would not allow it.
"We obey your command!" the generals responded in unison.

Inside the Han Royal Palace!
Everywhere was filled with Han soldiers who had lost their morale and were consumed by terror.
When they saw Zhao Feng leading the Qin army into the palace, their faces were filled with dread.
Many Han soldiers looked at Zhao Feng with eyes full of fear, their bodies even trembling—they were terrified to the extreme.
"It's that God of Slaughter."
"It's him..."
Many soldiers recognized Zhao Feng at a glance.
Many of these soldiers had fled back from the outer city or the inner city of the Han capital. From the moment the city fell to the arrival of the Qin army, Zhao Feng's contribution had been undeniable.
It could be said that his charge with the Company of Captains had never ceased; his ferocity was particularly terrifying, striking fear into every Han soldier.
The God of Slaughter, the Malevolent Star.
They had discussed these names while fleeing, terrified of encountering the God of Slaughter once again.
Zhao Feng scanned the area and felt the terror the Han soldiers felt toward him, but he didn't care much.
"Your King has fled! Your Young Master, Han Fei, has surrendered the State Seal to Great Qin!"
"If you want to live, drop your weapons and leave the palace immediately!" Zhao Feng shouted at the surrounding soldiers.
Upon hearing this, there was a clatter.
Clatter! Clatter!
The surrounding Han soldiers dropped their weapons one after another and swarmed toward the palace gates, running as fast as they could, fearing that a single step of delay would mean death.
"They are quite sensible," Zhao Feng remarked with a hint of irony.
"Captain," Zhang Han said with a laugh from the side, "don't you see the way those Han soldiers look at you? It's like they've seen a ghost. I reckon you've scared them half to death."
"If they surrender, they surrender. Leave the cleanup to the Second Company of Captains. We continue into the palace." Zhao Feng was fixated on the Han treasury. A national treasury would surely contain good things; he couldn't miss out.
"Understood."
Zhang Han and the others did not hesitate, following behind Zhao Feng as they ventured deeper into the palace.
Only after Zhao Feng's troops had entered did Liu Wu lead his remaining soldiers in. Seeing the weapons scattered on the ground and the surrendering Han soldiers fleeing the palace, he immediately ordered his men to maintain order.
Having survived this battle by a hair's breadth, Liu Wu's spirit was completely drained.
Inside the palace, in the plaza before the grand hall where the Han court used to convene, thousands of palace maids and eunuchs were kneeling on the ground. Among them were many elegantly dressed concubines.
*Han Fei is indeed a clever man,* Zhao Feng thought to himself as he looked at the orderly rows of people kneeling in the plaza. *He arranged the surrender of the palace in advance. Otherwise, if my army had charged in and people were fleeing everywhere, many more would have died.*
It was obvious that this had been Han Fei's arrangement.
"Captain," Zhang Han said, looking at the kneeling concubines, many of whom were strikingly beautiful. He immediately felt a sense of mischief and smiled at Zhao Feng. "There are quite a few princesses and royal consorts here. Should I catch a couple for you and send them to your camp tonight?"
