Great Li Martial God
Chapter 26: Targeting
Seeing the newcomer, Cang Yinyue cupped her hands with composure and said
"Greetings, Captain Ji. I have just returned from handling a case and happened to be gathering with a friend here."
Hearing this, Ji Feiyun glanced at Li Musheng, his eyes narrowing slightly
"I am accustomed to entering through windows. I hope I haven't disturbed you?"
Cang Yinyue shook her head slowly and pointed toward the wooden wall nearby, saying
"I presume Captain Ji is here for Guan Shanchue; she is in the next room."
Seeing this, Ji Feiyun let out a soft sigh and lowered his voice
"This young lady causes trouble every time she visits Shangyang City, and she always picks on me. If it weren't for the Divine Constable protecting her, I wouldn't want to deal with her at all."
Cang Yinyue smiled and said
"You don't understand a woman's heart, Captain Ji. The fact that she targets you so deliberately makes me suspect she has taken a liking to you."
Ji Feiyun chuckled and shook his head
"It is not me she has taken a liking to, but someone else."
Just then, a sharp burst of icy qi suddenly sliced through the wooden wall next door, slashing toward the three people in the room with relentless force.
Simultaneously, Guan Shanchue's voice, cold as frost, rang out
"Ji Feiyun, since you are here, why haven't you rolled your ass over here yet?"
"You mustn't."
Ji Feiyun gave a sharp command and immediately lunged forward. He thrust both palms outward, his surging true qi transforming into a gale that blocked the path in front of Cang Yinyue.
The icy qi and the gale collided and dissipated, but the resulting shockwave sent the surrounding tables and chairs flying, shattering them into pieces mid-air.
"Guan Shanchue, you are becoming increasingly excessive," Ji Feiyun said in a heavy tone, withdrawing his true qi and slowly pulling back his jade-like palms.
However, as his peripheral vision fell upon Li Musheng behind him, his eyes narrowed imperceptibly.
Li Musheng's current position was clearly different from before. Had he moved without Ji Feiyun even noticing when?
At that moment, Guan Shanchue, dressed in white as pure as snow, lightly tapped her feet and flashed across the broken wooden wall, entering the chamber where Ji Feiyun stood.
"How did you people from the Six Doors become the Fifth Prince's lackeys now?"
A mocking expression appeared on Guan Shanchue's delicate, fair face as she looked coldly at Ji Feiyun.
Hearing this, Ji Feiyun quietly withdrew his gaze from Li Musheng and frowned
"Shanchue, what do you mean by that?"
Guan Shanchue snorted coldly. Her gaze shifted toward Zhou Chuan and the two others, who were frozen by icy true qi in the adjacent room, and said
"They are members of your Six Doors, aren't they?"
"Naturally."
Ji Feiyun nodded, glancing at the three of them
"But why did you attack them?"
"If one of them accidentally disturbed you and made you unhappy, I can apologize to you on their behalf right here."
A cold sneer appeared on Guan Shanchue's face as she said
"They have been secretly tailing this playboy all along, trying to find some leverage against him to threaten the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue, forcing him to defect from the Seventh Prince to the Fifth Prince."
"I heard them say it with my own ears, and that is exactly what they were doing. I wonder what excuse you have for this?"
Ji Feiyun's expression changed. He scanned the surroundings and lowered his voice
"Guan Shanchue, do not speak recklessly in a setting like this, otherwise, I fear even the Divine Constable won't be able to protect you."
"Ji Feiyun, do you think I am talking nonsense?"
A flash of indignation crossed Guan Shanchue's eyes. Just as she was about to strike, Ji Feiyun pressed her down in time with his scabbard, whispering
"No matter what you heard, this is not the place to talk. Furthermore, I know you have always admired that fake prince, but times have changed."
"If you don't want to cause the Divine Constable to fall into prison, I advise you to stop while you're ahead today!"
Having said that, Ji Feiyun slowly withdrew his scabbard.
Guan Shanchue's lips moved, but ultimately, her brows remained tightly furrowed in silence. A look of anger and helplessness surfaced on her exquisite, porcelain-like face.
Seeing that she would no longer speak, Ji Feiyun visibly breathed a sigh of relief. He turned to Cang Yinyue and said
"Captain Cang, please do not let the events of today leak out."
Cang Yinyue's gaze was calm as she nodded slightly
"Has Captain Ji forgotten my identity? As a fellow member of the Six Doors, I naturally know what to do."
Hearing this, Ji Feiyun nodded slightly. He then turned his gaze toward Li Musheng, prompting Cang Yinyue to say
"Rest assured, Captain Ji. This matter concerns His Highness the Fifth Prince and the Six Doors. My friend here knows what is important; today's events will surely remain buried."
Ji Feiyun pondered for a moment, sized up Li Musheng, and said
"You do not seem to be from the Imperial Capital. It would likely be wise to listen to Captain Cang in all matters."
With that, Ji Feiyun turned and walked toward Zhou Chuan and the other two in the next room. As he moved, his palms flipped and his true qi surged.
With a single palm strike, it felt like a spring breeze brushing past, melting the ice and snow.
The icy true qi on the three men dissipated at a visible speed, and they quickly returned to normal.
Zhou Chuan and the others all breathed sighs of relief. They moved their stiff bodies to face Ji Feiyun, preparing to speak, but he raised a hand to stop them.
At that moment, a constable ran up hurriedly and said
"The Left Vice Minister of the Ministry of Revenue, Gao Changrui, is leading a group and is rushing this way. They will be downstairs momentarily."
Hearing this, Ji Feiyun glanced back at Zhang He, who was shrinking in the corner, and waved his hand, signaling Zhou Chuan and the other constables to leave.
He then returned to the chamber where Li Musheng and the others were.
"Do you want to come back to the Six Doors headquarters with me?" Ji Feiyun asked.
Seeing that Guan Shanchue remained silent with a cold face, he shook his head and said
"Stop causing trouble, otherwise, even the Divine Constable won't be able to cover for you."
As he spoke, Ji Feiyun walked toward the window. Before leaping out, he turned back to look at Cang Yinyue and said meaningfully
"During the days you've been away, Captain Fu has been missing you quite terribly. Come back soon to see him."
With that, Ji Feiyun's figure vanished through the window.
...
At this time, Li Musheng turned to Cang Yinyue and asked curiously
"Who is Captain Fu? Your father? Or your mother?"
Cang Yinyue shot him a glance
"My fiancé."
Li Musheng raised an eyebrow. Beside him, Guan Shanchue's gaze swept over Li Musheng's handsome face, and she suddenly let out a cold laugh
"Even with a fiancé, you still come out to flirt with handsome pretty boys. Cang Yinyue, you truly are shameless."
Hearing this, a cold light flashed in Cang Yinyue's eyes, revealing killing intent as her hand reached for her waist.
However, halfway through, she suddenly stopped and said coldly
"I can't be bothered to stoop to your level."
Then, she addressed Li Musheng
"Let's go."
But at that exact moment, icy true qi surged from Guan Shanchue's fingertips as she suddenly struck out, pointing a finger at Cang Yinyue.
However, to Guan Shanchue's shock, before her finger could even reach its mark, the true qi within her own body was instantly imprisoned, leaving her completely unable to move.
"This... since when did Cang Yinyue become this powerful?"
