God's Copycat

Chapter 5: Basic Community Rules

[I. Basic Living Guidelines]

[The "Community" is the daily living area for all players.]

["Visa Time" is the only currency within the Community.]

[Players may use "Visa Time" to purchase necessary supplies for daily life from within the Community, including basic food ingredients, clothing, medicine, etc.]

[At the time of visa issuance, the Community conducted a comprehensive assessment based on each player's situation and determined their initial "Visa Time."]

[Specific "Visa Time" balances can be checked at any "Visa Machine," "Vending Machine," or "Personal Computer."]

[Direct or indirect transactions regarding "Visa Time" between players are prohibited within the Community. Disguised transactions, such as using Visa Time to purchase supplies and then gifting those supplies to others, are also not permitted.]

[Completing judgment games in the "Gallery" is the only way to earn "Visa Time." For details, refer to "III. Gallery Judgment Guidelines."]

[II. Community Activity Guidelines]

[All players within the Community hold equal status.]

[Any dangerous behavior toward other players outside of the rules is strictly prohibited, including but not limited to murder, kidnapping, coercion, poisoning, etc.]

[Every Community player possesses equal voting rights.]

[Any Community player may go to the "Community Management Office" to propose a motion. Once approved by the Community, all Community players may cast their votes.]

[When more than half of the Community players vote in favor, the motion shall be established as a new Community rule.]

[III. Gallery Judgment Guidelines]

[The "Gallery" is the clearing and judgment institution in the New World.]

[The "Gallery" may open at any time, summoning players to complete judgment games through either "mandatory" or "voluntary" means.]

[Upon completing a game, corresponding "Visa Time" can be earned based on the game's content.]

[Hidden among all players is a special type of dangerous individual: "God's Copycats." They design games for the Gallery and carry out judgments on players.]

[When a player dies in the Gallery, the designer of the corresponding game will receive all of that player's remaining Visa Time.]

[The rules of the "Gallery" games will be updated in real-time on the homepage of players' personal computer websites.]

[The above are the basic rules of the New World. More hidden rules await for you players to discover and create.]

[Tonight is a peaceful night. I wish everyone a pleasant evening in the New World.]

The image on the large screen vanished, replaced by the simple words "Wishing you sweet dreams" and a cozy city background.

"Oh God, I’ve actually arrived in heaven.

"This is the eternal dwelling of the soul, the final destination for the kind-hearted..."

A middle-aged woman dressed in simple clothing kept making the sign of the cross over her chest, her eyes brimming with tears, her emotions stirred.

As for the others, their reactions varied.

Some faces held joy, while others were filled with anxiety.

Fu Chen looked at the group, hesitating for a moment, but eventually cleared his throat and said in a clear voice

"Everyone... could you please quiet down for a moment and listen to me for a second?

"Most of us probably don't know exactly what's going on. We are full of questions about how we got here and what this so-called New World is.

"But judging by the current situation, we will all be living together in this Community for some time to come.

"Therefore, I propose that we do a simple self-introduction to get to know each other better, and then discuss the known Community rules.

"This might be helpful for how we get along later.

"Of course, this is just a suggestion and is not mandatory in any way.

"What does everyone think?"

Fu Chen looked at the group. The previously noisy atmosphere quieted down, and many people nodded in agreement.

No one stood up to object.

Fu Chen pushed up his rimless glasses and said, "Alright, I'll start.

"I am No. 1, Fu Chen."

As he spoke, he showed the group the visa pattern on his wristband to prove he wasn't lying about his name.

"I'm 25 years old, and as you can see, I'm male.

"My previous job was as an online streamer, mainly doing outdoor content.

"As for how I got here, I have absolutely no memory of it.

"My last memory is that I was doing a 48-hour non-stop streaming challenge. I seemed to have fallen asleep because I was too tired, and when I woke up, I was in a pure white room.

"I waited for two hours before the door finally opened.

"I followed the path until I reached this building and checked in."

Fu Chen seemed to be trying his best to keep his tone light and humorous, especially when he mentioned "as you can see, I'm male," seemingly expecting some response from the group.

But unfortunately, the people present were clearly still in a state of tension and wariness, so they didn't provide any feedback.

"Then, shall we proceed with self-introductions in order of our player numbers?"

As Fu Chen spoke, he looked at a slightly plump woman sitting diagonally across from him, her cheeks flushed with a faint red.

The plump woman nodded and took over, "Hello everyone, I'm No. 2. My name is Jiang He, and my previous job was a newspaper editor..."

Lin Sizhi listened carefully to everyone's statements. Soon, everyone had finished their self-introductions.

Some were talkative, others introverted, and the amount of information they revealed to the outside world varied, but at least the basic information, such as age and occupation, was fully accounted for.

No. 1 Fu Chen, male, 25, online streamer.

No. 2 Jiang He, female, 31, newspaper editor.

No. 3 Li Renshu, female, 29, civil servant.

No. 4 Cao Haichuan, male, 39, criminal police officer.

No. 5 Cai Zhiyuan, male, 28, algorithm programmer.

No. 6 Wang Yongxin, male, 36, startup founder.

No. 7 Qin Yao, female, 24, fashion model.

No. 8 Su Xiucen, female, 52, retired employee.

No. 9 Xu Tong, female, 32, human resources manager.

No. 10 Ding Wenqiang, male, 53, courier.

No. 11 Yang Yuting, female, 27, corporate executive.

No. 12 Lin Sizhi, male, 26, lawyer.

As for the process of how they arrived here, it was much the same.

They all experienced brief amnesia, woke up in that pure white room, waited for 2 hours to receive their visas, and then came to the Community to check in.

But no one mentioned an experience like Lin Sizhi's—"designing games to judge criminals."

Lin Sizhi was the last to speak, so he naturally omitted that part.

Fu Chen was silent for a moment: "So, what does everyone think about our current situation?"
