Global Gaming: Idle From the Zombie Apocalypse
Chapter 52: Solo Exploration
In fact, Fang Heng had already leveled up the Doomsday Merchant to an extremely high level, granting him the highest discount. It only cost him 31 Survival Points to purchase a single shotgun shell.
"Quickly!"
The group filed in one after another, climbing through the window to sneak into the hospital.
As soon as he stepped into the hospital, Fang Heng immediately turned on his portable flashlight, quickly scanning every corner of the room.
This was an ordinary consultation room.
Kunba and Kunta quickly cleared out the remaining zombies in the room, then opened the door to enter the hallway outside the consultation room to clear the zombies there.
Hao Zhou, meanwhile, took out wooden boards to reseal and reinforce the window entrance that had been damaged when the group forced their way in.
A moment later, Kunba and Kunta finished clearing the hallway outside the room and returned.
"Area secured."
Hearing this, Sister Li immediately deactivated her barrier state.
She took a can of Red Bull, which accelerated mental power recovery, from her backpack and took a large gulp.
"Mental power consumption was slightly lower than expected. It will take about an hour and a half to fully recover."
Hao Zhou nodded.
"Good. Everyone, take a rest first."
Having entered the community hospital smoothly, the group had completed the first stage of their mission.
Overall, it had been a close call but without major incident.
Hao Zhou locked the door of the consultation room and raised his hand to light a campfire on the spot.
The group sat around the fire and began to eat, replenishing the physical strength they had expended earlier.
Under these circumstances, Fang Heng preferred to play it safe.
He chose not to show off his specialty—barbecuing.
After all, zombies had a chance of smelling the scent and tracking them down.
There was no need to invite unnecessary trouble.
He ate the remaining half-pack of Oreo cookies from before, paired with chocolate milk.
As he ate, Fang Heng contemplated his next move.
The team's next task was to find the backup generator set on the first floor and blow it up.
Of course, he had something even more important to do.
Fang Heng glanced at the mission description again.
Mission Name: Find the T-Virus Serum.
Mission Description: Find the T-Virus Serum and deliver it to the Doomsday Merchant, Wirtel (You can find the T-Virus Serum in the Dean's office on the third floor of the community hospital in Hope Town; you may also find the T-Virus Serum through other means).
Hint: As time passes, the anti-viral serum in Hope Town may be taken or destroyed by other survivors ahead of schedule.
The T-Virus Serum was hidden on the third floor.
He had to head up there first.
Considering that blowing up the generator would cause noise and attract zombies, Hao Zhou would likely choose to execute the demolition after Sister Li had fully recovered...
Therefore, he had an hour and a half of free time.
Just as Fang Heng was thinking, he heard Hao Zhou clap his hands.
"The plan is this: first, we locate the generator set, occupy the room containing it, and ensure the safety of the generator room and its surroundings."
"In an hour and a half, we will install the explosives and retreat quickly."
Hao Zhou outlined the general plan.
No one in the group had any objections.
Only Fang Heng was different; he was still thinking about going to the third floor to complete his mission.
"Don't you guys think this mission is a bit strange?"
Hearing this, several people looked up at Fang Heng simultaneously.
"Especially Old Black; he's very odd too."
As he spoke, Fang Heng stood up and walked to the entrance of the room, attempting to press the light switch.
"The backup power here isn't even working. Why go through the extra trouble and effort to blow up the generator set?"
Hao Zhou and the others fell silent for a moment.
In truth, they were also suspicious of this mission.
However, this was the employer's mission.
Do not ask the employer too many "whys"; only care about what can be gained once the job is done.
This was the professional code of mercenaries.
Hao Zhou pondered for a moment and said, "It is indeed a bit strange, but it has nothing to do with us. We only need to complete the mission."
"You're right, but I have a bad feeling about this."
Fang Heng shrugged and said, "I'll go scout the surrounding area in a bit to clear out any potential dangers. You guys proceed according to the plan. Whether I find anything or not, I'll come back to the generator room to find you."
Hao Zhou frowned.
Splitting up was a major taboo.
But on second thought, the risk Fang Heng pointed out was real.
He also distrusted this mission slightly, feeling vaguely that something was off.
Most importantly.
Throughout their journey, Fang Heng had already demonstrated his strength.
He already held weight within the team.
Moreover, with Fang Heng's strength, even if he encountered an evolved zombie, he had the ability to protect himself.
"I don't support your action, but if you insist, I won't forcibly stop you."
After a brief thought, Hao Zhou agreed to Fang Heng's solo action.
"Be careful. If you haven't returned in an hour and a half, for the sake of the mission's priority, we will choose to minimize risk and abandon you. We won't risk our lives to come looking for you."
"Hahaha." Fang Heng laughed and patted Hao Zhou on the shoulder. "It sounds cold, but I understand. I'll make it back."
"Mm. Take care of yourself."
Hao Zhou nodded.
"Add me as a friend. If you run into problems, contact me via the emergency communication on the Survival Radio."
"Got it."
After quickly adding each other as friends, Fang Heng pushed the door and left the consultation room.
The community hospital was large.
Fang Heng drew his machete, carefully searching the staircase leading to the second floor.
He checked the respawn time of his zombie clone.
It was quite bad luck.
There was only one hour and 40 minutes left.
When that time came, his zombie clone would automatically respawn in the vicinity.
There would be no stopping it!
If everything went smoothly, he would just happen to be fleeing Hope Town at that time.
"If only the zombie clone's respawn time were controllable," Fang Heng muttered softly, then suddenly froze in his tracks.
His Danger Perception skill took effect again; he sensed a slight danger around the upcoming corner.
It was a zombie!
"Ssh!"
He raised his hand and struck.
The zombie hiding around the corner had its throat slit by Fang Heng in one stroke.
Its head was severed and flew into the air.
With a *thud*, it landed on the ground.
Fang Heng rounded the corner, and the staircase was right before him.
He headed straight for the third floor.
Clearing out the zombies he encountered along the way, Fang Heng simultaneously observed the lettering on the room signs.
"Storage Room."
"Lounge."
"Reception Hall."
"Cloakroom..."
"Dean's Office."
He found it.
Fang Heng tried to push the door.
It was locked.
*Click.*
Fang Heng pulled out the shotgun, racked the slide, and aimed the muzzle at the lock.
"BANG!!!"
With a gunshot, a large hole was blasted through the door lock by the shotgun.
"Ugh..."
The zombies inside the Dean's office immediately swarmed toward the sound.
With a *thud*, Fang Heng pushed the wooden door open, his machete swinging directly at the lunging zombies.
"Slash! Slash!"
