Chapter 10: The Homeless Female Supporting Character 10

Jiang Yun hit a wall with the three members of the Zhang family and was so angry that she began scolding Zhang Guohua on the way back.

"I am truly infuriated by your parents and your sister."

"I shouldn't have gone over there at all."

Zhang Guohua was driving the motorcycle in front, listening to Jiang Yun’s dissatisfied muttering. In his heart, he actually wanted to say that he had already told her not to go to the house, but he couldn't stop her when she insisted on going. What could he do?

Now look at this—having failed to gain any advantage, she was venting her anger on him. He really wanted to retort, but he didn't dare.

"Your parents are the same. Before, they were always talking about how good we were, but now that they need help, look at what they said. Is that helping us?"

"It really makes me so angry."

"I really feel like you only hold the title of the eldest son, but when there are actual benefits, you never get a share."

Zhang Guohua pursed his lips and drove quietly. Since Jiang Yun was very unhappy, he would just let her vent.

Jiang Yun muttered all the way home. According to Zhang Guohua's calculations, she should have stopped by then, but he hadn't expected his estimate to be wrong this time.

Even after arriving home, Jiang Yun kept muttering. What could he do?

Zhang Yi had gone out to eat with colleagues today. Hearing movement in the living room, he walked out. "Mom, Dad, where did you go?"

"Where else? To your grandfather's house." Jiang Yun knew that it was impossible to get Zhang Guohua's agreement, so she had to pull Zhang Yi into it.

Zhang Yi hadn't expected such a thing. "If Little Aunt isn't getting married, it's normal for Grandpa and Grandma not to give her a house. She has no reason not to take care of them."

"She is being too unfilial." Zhang Yi didn't think it was excessive for the Zhang family to divide the property without giving Zhang Yu a share; instead, he felt that Zhang Yu was the one being unfilial.

"Exactly. She even said she might not have time to come back and pack things up. Xiao Yi, you didn't see the stuff at your grandparents' house."

"I have to work, and then come home to pack—where would I get the energy?"

Zhang Yi naturally stood on Jiang Yun's side. As for Zhang Yu, he had heard nothing but dissatisfaction from Zhang Dagui and Zhang Hong since he was a child, always saying how useless she was.

In the hearts of the three children, including Zhang Yi, they had absolutely no respect for Zhang Yu. They felt she was just an elder, but one who lacked any ability.

Now that he knew what Zhang Yu had done, he was truly furious. He picked up the phone and dialed.

Jiang Yun saw Zhang Yi pick up the receiver. "What are you doing?"

"I'm calling Zhang Yu. I want to ask her properly: how have Grandpa and Grandma mistreated her? How can she just ignore the two elders?"

When Zhang Guohua heard Zhang Yi call Zhang Yu by her name directly, he felt it wasn't quite right, but he didn't speak up, otherwise, he would surely be scolded by this mother-son duo.

The home phone rang. If Zhang Yu was home, she was the one who answered it.

As soon as she picked up the phone, she heard from the other end: "Zhang Yu?"

Zhang Yu heard the voice and, although it sounded somewhat familiar, she couldn't recall who it was.

She hesitated: "Hello, I am Zhang Yu. Who is this?"

Zhang Yi said indignantly: "I am Zhang Yi. How could you..."

Zhang Yi had planned exactly how he would lecture Zhang Yu, but before he could even get started, he heard the *beep-beep-beep* sound from the other end.

Zhang Yi was stunned, wondering what was going on and why she had hung up.

Zhang Yu hadn't expected it to be a call from Zhang Yi. She knew that in the eyes of the Zhang family, she was someone to be looked down upon.

And now, he had even called her by her name. The original owner might have endured it, but why should she?

Could she count on them to support her in her old age? Unless she had money, but if she had money, would she need them?

She turned around, just about to leave, when the phone rang again. She picked it up and immediately heard the person on the other end start cursing.

This time, she couldn't be bothered to hang up. She just placed the receiver on the table and went to pack her things. If someone insisted on doing this, she would let him vent to his heart's content.

Zhang Yu took a shower, washed the clothes she had changed out of, and hung them on the balcony to dry.

After finishing all these tasks, she walked back to the phone to see if the call had ended.

Hearing the dial tone from the other end, she happily hung up the phone.

Zhang Yu thought that since she had already ignored Zhang Yi twice, he shouldn't be looking for her again.

However, some things cannot be judged by common sense. No sooner had she returned to her room than the phone rang again.

Helpless, she had no choice but to answer it again. Originally, she had intended to give Zhang Yi a good lecture.

But as soon as she picked up the phone, she heard Zhang Yi spewing filth again.

Such behavior from Zhang Yi made Zhang Yu abandon the idea of educating him. It was easy to guess that Zhang Guohua and his wife were likely right there beside him.

Just by the fact that this kid kept calling her again and again and could curse with such vigor, she knew that Zhang Guohua and his wife hadn't taught him a thing.

Since his parents hadn't thought about teaching him properly, why should she, the person at the very bottom of the Zhang family, bother educating the eldest grandson?

This kid had really only grown in height over the years, but as for his brain, he hadn't invested much into it.

Otherwise, he wouldn't have ended up working at a decent state-owned enterprise through the machinations of Zhang Guohua and his wife, where he could have become a minor leader if he had just developed step by step.

But instead, this guy held a good hand of cards and played them like trash. Even with connections above and people pushing from behind, he hadn't made any progress in over ten years.

This completely proved that Zhang Yi was just mud that couldn't be propped up. Since that was the case, he could just continue being mud.

Zhang Yu spoke up: "If you want to curse, go ahead. But remember, your father is the eldest son, your mother is the eldest daughter-in-law, and you are the eldest grandson."

Zhang Yu: "Since your parents keep bringing up this status, shouldn't you be taking on more responsibility?"

Zhang Yu: "Don't spend all day thinking about how to get more of the family assets while being unwilling to take on responsibilities. If I give up the Zhang family assets, or if you weren't even considering giving me any in the first place, then you can't keep expecting me to take on all the responsibilities."

Zhang Yu: "The parents are everyone's parents. Why do you have so many opinions just because your parents have to help pack some things?"

Zhang Yu: "If you think your parents can't handle that much work, and you're so filial, why don't you help with the work?"

Zhang Yu: "Always complaining about this person being unfilial or that person being unfilial—fine, you're filial, so you do it. Otherwise, stop the B.S."

Zhang Yu: "Alright, I'm hanging up. Don't call again."

After Zhang Yu finished speaking, she hung up the phone directly and then proceeded to unplug the phone line.

They were all talk about being filial, but when it came to actually doing the work, none of them were willing. Yet they still had the nerve to call others unfilial. They were truly spoiled.

Zhang Yu knew that hanging up this call would surely make Zhang Yi furious, but so what? No one was obligated to spoil them.
