Chapter 45: Kindness is the Most Beautiful Quality of Humanity (Please vote for monthly tickets!!)

In a cafe in Shanghai, a middle-aged woman wearing designer clothes and sunglasses was looking around restlessly.

Old Liu raised his hand and waved at her; the woman hurried over to him.

As soon as she sat down, she impatiently slapped several photos out of her bag and said through gritted teeth, "What exactly do you want?"

Old Liu shrugged. "Mrs. Zhang, aren't you asking the wrong person? It's your husband who is fooling around outside; you should be asking him what he wants."

Mrs. Zhang roared in a low voice, "What is your actual goal? If there were no benefit in this, why would you send these photos to me?"

Old Liu took a sip of coffee and nodded unhurriedly. "Fine, I'll tell you the truth. The girl in these photos offended someone. My employer wants me to teach her a lesson, so I thought of you, Mrs. Zhang."

Mrs. Zhang had an epiphany, but she continued to stare at Old Liu warily. "You aren't one of Old Zhang's rivals trying to take him down, are you?"

"You could think of it that way. But don't you think this is a good opportunity, Mrs. Zhang? As far as I know, your husband started transferring assets years ago. You've been married for so many years—are you really willing to just walk away with nothing?" After speaking, Old Liu crossed his legs and waited for Mrs. Zhang's reaction with great interest.

Mrs. Zhang's expression shifted between light and dark. Finally, she gritted her teeth and said, "These photos only prove they entered the same hotel; they don't directly prove Old Zhang is cheating."

Old Liu smiled. "I certainly have more explosive material."

As he spoke, he produced several more photos and a USB drive, handing them to her.

Upon seeing the photos, a cold sneer immediately curled at the corners of Mrs. Zhang's mouth.

"Speak. What do you want me to do?"

Old Liu snapped his fingers. "Smart. It's actually quite simple. My employer wants this matter to blow up at the company. Ideally, it should be Mrs. Zhang herself who makes the scene."

"You mean you want me to go after the mistress?" Mrs. Zhang hesitated.

Old Liu gave a playful smile. "Mrs. Zhang, you don't actually think a few candid photos and videos will lead to a total victory in court, do you? In a divorce battle, it often comes down to who is more ruthless. The more ruthless you are, the more you get. Just a friendly reminder: in your current state, if you don't secure a large portion of the assets after the divorce, your quality of life for the rest of your life will inevitably suffer. Think about what you should do."

Having said his piece, Old Liu stood up to leave. He believed the other party would make the right choice.

Mrs. Zhang watched Old Liu's departing figure, then looked down at the explicit photos in her hand. Her gaze gradually became firm.

The next day, Guan Ju'er was riding the elevator upstairs to clock in for work. When she arrived at her department, she found the office area in a state of chaotic uproar.

The workstations in her group were already surrounded by gossiping colleagues. After struggling to squeeze through the crowd, she saw Michelle surrounded by several middle-aged women. One of the women was grabbing Michelle by her hair. Her once fair face was marked with several handprints from being slapped; her face was swollen, and blood was trickling from the corner of her mouth.

"You bitch! Of all the things you could do, you had to learn to be a mistress. If Heaven won't take you, I will!"

"Waaaah... I didn't do anything! You must have the wrong person!" Michelle wailed.

The leading woman sneered, "Hmph, the wrong person? I'd recognize you even if you were turned to ash!"

She pulled a stack of photos from her bag and showed them to the onlookers.

"Look at this! Is this not her? This slut has gone to hotels with my husband more than once! An intern specifically picking out company executives to seduce—your HR department needs to do a proper investigation to see if there are 'unspoken rules' happening here!"

As soon as these words were spoken, all the interns were stunned.

"So it was Vice President Zhang that Michelle was seducing. No wonder she never cared about her work; she already had her plan in place."

"Michelle looked so pure; I never expected her to do something like this. You really can't judge a book by its cover."

"Hmph, what a slut. Hooking up with an older man just for a permanent position... she's truly a disgrace to women."

A wife attacking a mistress is an evergreen, sensational topic. Previously, people only saw such plots on TV, but now that it was happening in reality, it naturally drew massive attention. Soon, the entire company knew.

Vice President Zhang was originally in his office being intimate with his assistant when the office phone rang.

The angry roar of the CEO came from the other end. Vice President Zhang shuddered, hung up the phone, and ignored his assistant's flirtatious glances as he rushed straight to the CEO's office.

"Open your WeChat groups and see the mess you've made!" the CEO said with a cold, disgusted snort.

Vice President Zhang thought there might have been a mistake at work and hurriedly opened WeChat. When he clicked in, his vision went dark, as if his head had been struck hard by an iron hammer. He nearly fainted on the spot.

"This... Boss, listen to me. It's not like that. There must be some misunderstanding," Vice President Zhang attempted to defend himself.

The CEO sneered, "I misunderstand you? Does your own partner misunderstand you? Do those photos frame you?"

"I..." Vice President Zhang felt his limbs turn cold.

The CEO waved his hand. "From this moment on, you are no longer an employee of Huaxin Securities. You have ten minutes to pack your personal belongings. Now, immediately, get the hell out of my office!"

"Boss..."

"GET OUT!!!"

On the other side, Mrs. Zhang's appearance severely disrupted the company's normal operations, and she was soon escorted out by security.

All that remained was a pile of scandalous photos and a soul-crushed Michelle.

At this moment, the interns who had previously targeted Guan Ju'er realized the truth.

"So Michelle was the one using the back door, and she was using 'unspoken rules' with her boss. I don't know how she had the nerve to talk about others."

"Exactly. Thinking back, Michelle was constantly stirring the pot to benefit herself in the end. How insidious."

"Tsk tsk, what a pity. People eventually get what they deserve for doing bad things. Let's see how she can keep a straight face and stay in this company."

Before long, Michelle was called in for a talk by HR, and news soon broke that she had been fired.

Furthermore, the company quickly issued an internal public letter, and even Vice President Zhang was kicked out.

Guan Ju'er was currently hiding in the restroom. After a moment of hesitation, she dialed Qin Hao's number.

"About Michelle's situation..."

Qin Hao said candidly, "I did it."

"Do you think what I did was too cruel?"

Guan Ju'er murmured, "No, no... I just... it didn't have to be like this. Michelle is still young; a scandal like this will ruin her entire life."

Qin Hao said seriously, "It wasn't me or you who ruined her life; it was herself. Michelle graduated from a prestigious school; her IQ and EQ are not low. She could have relied on her own efforts to secure a permanent position or found a better job elsewhere. But she didn't. She was willing to engage in 'unspoken rules' with her superior. If this hadn't been exposed and she had secured her position through such means, would that be fair to the other interns in your cohort?"

"It is because there are too many 'Michelles' and 'Vice Presidents Zhangs' in this society that order collapses. When hard work becomes worthless in the face of 'unspoken rules,' won't even more people fall into corruption?"

"Today, you only see a fierce Mrs. Zhang and a pitiful Michelle. But have you ever thought about it? Mrs. Zhang is the legal wife; she bore the responsibility of taking care of the family, only to be intruded upon by a third party. Is that fair to her?"

"Of course, I am not some hero acting on behalf of Heaven. I did all of this simply because I didn't want you to be hurt."

Facing Qin Hao's heartfelt confession, Guan Ju'er's eyes instantly reddened, and she began to sob with regret.

"Waaaah... I'm sorry, I shouldn't have thought that way..."

"Silly girl, kindness is the most beautiful human quality, and that is also what attracts me most about you."
