Chapter 18: No One Can Understand Dog Language

Seeing Jiang Yuan's posture, which looked as if she were ready to strike, the middle-aged woman felt a sudden surge of panic. "What are you doing? Are you trying to hit someone?"

The middle-aged woman's face, as plump as a rising steamed bun, flushed with rage. "What do you mean by that?"

Jiang Yuan said unhurriedly, "If the surveillance footage didn't record who bullied the puppy, then let the puppy tell us the truth itself."

Hearing this, the middle-aged woman laughed out of sheer fury. Seeing the curious gazes of passersby, she immediately raised her voice, "Everyone, come listen to how abominable this family is!"

Many passersby were drawn in by her, eager to join the drama.

"Her child injured my pet dog and even bullied my child!"

Jiang Yuan stared at his small figure in a daze. Her eyes felt hot, and a wave of warmth surged in her heart, making the entire world feel warmer.

"Zhanzhan." She walked to the child's side, placed her hand on the top of his head, and said softly, "It's okay. Auntie will handle it."

Zhanzhan turned his head, his clear, bright eyes filled with concern.

Jiang Yuan gave the child a reassuring look, then swept a half-smile across the crowd of onlookers.

"Someone just hit on a key point: how can a dog talk? A dog can talk, it just doesn't speak human language."

The middle-aged woman immediately mocked her, "Then why did you say you'd let the dog tell the truth? No one can understand dog language!"

Jiang Yuan raised an eyebrow. "What a coincidence. I happen to be able to communicate with pets; I can understand their language."

The middle-aged woman froze for a few seconds before bursting into laughter with her companion.

Not just them, but even the onlookers thought it was a complete fairy tale.

"That's hilarious. How could a person understand animal speech?"

She took Zhanzhan's hand and walked toward the pet cage, squatting down in front of the puppy to look at it.

It was a Samoyed. Several patches of its snow-white fur had been stained red, with the skin torn open to reveal raw, crimson flesh.

The little Samoyed mustered its strength despite the pain. "Okay!"

"Impossible! Dogs just like to respond to people!"

Ignoring the murmurs, Jiang Yuan continued her conversation with the little Samoyed. "How did these injuries on your body happen?"

Jiang Yuan: "Then why won't he admit it?"

Jiang Yuan turned to look at the children. Among them, only one chubby boy with curly hair was a boy.

He must be the Xuanxuan the little Samoyed mentioned.

"Keep resting. I'll take you to the pet hospital in a moment," Jiang Yuan said before standing up.

Zhanzhan followed closely behind her, his dark eyes brimming with admiration.

Jiang Yuan walked up to the middle-aged woman and said in a cold tone, "I've asked clearly. The injuries on your Xiaobai were caused by a child named Xuanxuan. It has nothing to do with my child."

As soon as she finished speaking, the chubby boy named Xuanxuan's expression shifted. His eyes darted around in panic before he began to throw a tantrum.

"You're lying! I didn't hit Xiaobai! It was your bad girl who hit Xiaobai! Feifei, am I right?"

The girl called Feifei was the one who had accused Momo at the beginning.

She hurriedly said, "Yes! Brother Xuanxuan didn't hit Xiaobai, she did!"

Feifei pointed her finger at Momo.

With red-rimmed eyes, Momo retorted fiercely, "I didn't!"

The short-haired woman, hearing Jiang Yuan throw the blame onto her son, became instantly displeased.

"My Xuanxuan is kind-hearted; he would never lay a hand on a small animal! Stop slandering my son!"
