Chapter 1: The Cat Dictionary

It’s over…

The hot spring villa in the evening echoed with Christmas carols, and young men and women chatted with smiles as bright as flowers.

Jiang Yuan, however, could not feel the festive atmosphere. Her mind was entirely occupied by the thought that she had offended the protagonist group and would end up dead without a whole corpse by the age of twenty-five.

The cats stared at the cat food in her arms and agreed to lead the way.

After winding through several dark alleys, there was finally a faint light.

The air emitted a foul odor, and Jiang Yuan vaguely saw a dog's shadow standing in front of a trash can.

"Woof, woof, woof!"

Sensing a human, the big black dog barked a few warnings.

The calico and tabby cats retreated in tacit agreement.

Jiang Yuan looked back and asked, "Is this the Black Tyrant you were talking about?"

"Yes!" both cats replied simultaneously.

Jiang Yuan took a deep breath and asked the big black dog, "Where is the little girl you were chasing earlier?"

The big black dog: "Woof, woof, woof!"

Jiang Yuan clenched her hands tightly at her sides, beads of sweat forming on her forehead.

She could understand cats, but she couldn't understand the big black dog.

Just as Jiang Yuan felt helpless, she suddenly heard a faint, tiny, milky voice.

"Auntie..."

She looked up abruptly at the trash can in front of the big black dog.

The big black dog barked frantically, even jumping onto the lid of the trash can, its sharp teeth biting the handle as it tried to pry it open.

A spark of hope ignited in Jiang Yuan’s heart. "Momo, are you hiding inside the trash can?"

The tiny, tearful voice came from inside the trash can, "Wuwuwu, Auntie, I'm sorry. Momo didn't mean to not wait for you, but the big doggy is so scary..."

"Don't be afraid," Jiang Yuan comforted the child, her voice somewhat stiff.

She stared at the nearly crazed big black dog, her heart pounding like a drum.

She had to find a way to make it leave.

However, the big black dog wasn't afraid of people. No matter how Jiang Yuan tried to scare it, it showed no fear, continuing to frantically bite the lid of the trash can.

After about half an hour of stalemate, Jiang Yuan suddenly thought of something, turned around, and sprinted back the way she came.
