After Transmigrating as an Ability Overlord, I Made My Debut

Chapter 7: 7. Chapter 7: The Emergency Call That Was One Step Ahead

Chapter 7: The Preemptive Emergency Call

Peng Xiaoyu was truly about to explode with rage!

What did she mean, her reputation was too bad! She used to be a prominent figure in school, okay? She was the dream lover of countless people! That incident with Dong Xinliang was the biggest regret of her life, but if you looked at the root cause, wasn't it because Dong Xinliang liked Qin Yike that he rejected her, eventually causing the whole thing to blow up?

Although years had passed, every time Peng Xiaoyu thought about it, she felt that incident was the most humiliating moment of her life, bar none! Naturally, Qin Yike had become the person she hated most!

"Qin, our reunion today is just your bad luck! Who told you not to settle down in Beijing and insist on running into my territory, Peng Xiaoyu's territory!"

"Your territory?" Qin Yike said expressionlessly, "You're quite confident, aren't you?"

"Cut the nonsense, teach her a lesson for me!" Peng Xiaoyu patted the shoulder of an accomplice, signaling them to move.

Qin Yike watched as the two "shamate" thugs walked toward her unhurriedly. Their steps were relaxed, and their faces wore smiles of contempt and disdain, as if she were a helpless wretch at this moment.

Their gazes scanned Qin Yike with ill intent, as if they had some ulterior motive.

Qin Yike sneered inwardly. Did these two not know how to avoid underestimating the enemy? It seemed it was time to give them a lesson.

"Such a beautiful face; if it gets all bruised and swollen, it'll be quite an eyesore!" One of the thugs reached out to grab Qin Yike's face.

They thought taking down Qin Yike would be a sure thing—couldn't two men teach a single woman a lesson? However, they didn't expect Qin Yike to strike first, grabbing the man's wrist in a sudden move.

She possessed great strength; the man found himself unable to break free.

"Now, let's see who's the eyesore."

As soon as the words fell, Qin Yike swiftly slid her other hand under the man's arm, shifted her center of gravity forward, crossed her arms, and used her body's momentum and strength to flip him directly onto the ground. With a clean arm-lock and elbow-lever, she successfully sent the thug crashing down.

With a loud *thud*, Thug Number One hit the ground on his back, the fall being quite heavy.

Everything happened too fast; from start to finish, the entire process took less than three seconds.

"Fuck!" Peng Xiaoyu cursed loudly. How could she have forgotten that Qin Yike knew some martial arts? Her crazed second grandfather had taught her plenty of ways to fight. It turned out that after all these years, she hadn't lost those skills; instead, she had become even more proficient!

"You, go!" Peng Xiaoyu shoved the other thug. Caught off guard, the guy nearly tripped over himself.

Qin Yike couldn't help but comment, "Your stance is unstable!"

"Stable my ass!" The thug was a hothead; he swung his fist and charged at Qin Yike. Meanwhile, the man on the ground took the opportunity to scramble up, hoping to use their numbers to gain an advantage and avenge his previous fall.

However, the disparity in strength was too great. In less than ten seconds of combat, the two thugs had unlocked new "flying postures," crashing heavily onto the ground once again.

"Holy shit, my waist..."

"My teeth..."

Peng Xiaoyu was terrified. Forgetting all about her dignity, she pointed at Qin Yike and spat out, "You just wait!" With that, she turned and bolted, running with incredible speed!

Qin Yike kicked at the thug on the ground. "She's already gone, and you two aren't running? What are you waiting for?"

The two weren't stupid; realizing the other party wasn't going to pursue them, they hurriedly scrambled up and helped each other away.

Qin Yike also walked out of the alley. There was no sign of Peng Xiaoyu or the thugs anywhere; they had certainly run fast.

Well, time to keep wandering!

Qin Yike wasn't just wandering aimlessly. She hadn't come out to find a job; she was looking for startup capital.

She had a plan in mind, and it required money to execute!

Of course, she wouldn't resort to scams or trickery. She intended to earn money through her hard work and exquisite medical skills.

However, as a fresh college graduate, it would be a miracle if anyone actually sought her out for medical treatment!

Her goal was to find people with financial means whose health was somewhat compromised. In the short time she had been strolling the streets, Qin Yike had already spotted several people with hidden ailments. Setting aside whether they had money, she couldn't exactly walk up to them and say: "Old man, you're sick, and it's terminal—likely early-stage cancer!"

"Ma'am, your heart has issues; you'll only last another three days!"

"Young man, don't be fooled by your healthy appearance and energy; your stomach is about to perforate!"

Who could stomach that? They'd probably slap her across the face!

So, sometimes having talent isn't enough; your talent needs a place to be applied to show its worth! You need a benefactor, and Heaven needs to keep an eye on you and not forget you for things to succeed.

Otherwise...

Hmph, one ends up like her—starving like a dog, only to end up with nothing.

Qin Yike was so hungry that her chest felt hollowed out. Ignoring everything else, she ducked into a random fast-food shop.

There were many such small shops in the county town; they looked unremarkable and small, but the environment was actually quite decent. Most importantly, she was short on cash and had no room to be picky.

Qin Yike chose a seat near the edge, ordered a plate of fried noodles and a bottle of soda.

The waiter was very efficient, and before long, the noodles and soda were served. The waiter even politely said, "Please enjoy."

Qin Yike broke apart a pair of chopsticks and began eating heartily.

To be honest, it had taken her a long time to adapt to her current identity and lifestyle! In her original world, there weren't so many novelties. Restaurants didn't use disposable chopsticks, transportation was very limited, and things like mobile phones were non-existent.

The bowl of noodles was quickly emptied. Qin Yike wiped her mouth, gulped down the last of the soda, and called the waiter to settle the bill.

Qin Yike scanned the code to pay, secretly marveling at how excellent this world was. Everything was so convenient; she didn't even need to carry cash in her pocket.

Just as she was preparing to stand up and leave, an elderly man walked in. He looked to be over seventy, with white hair, clean clothes, and a sturdy build.

As their eyes met, Qin Yike sat back down.

The old man sat at the table diagonally opposite Qin Yike to order.

"Grandpa, what are you having today?" The waiter turned to greet him; they seemed to be acquaintances, likely a regular customer.

Qin Yike took a careful look at the old man, withdrew her gaze, took her phone out of her bag, and dialed 120 directly.

"This is Chunjiang Road, Gui Sister Fast Food. Someone has collapsed."

The old man looked at her, and the waiter looked at her too.

"Who collapsed?" Had this girl eaten too many noodles and broken her brain, or what? She didn't look like an idiot.

At that moment, the old man who was about to order suddenly began to tremble. After his eyelids flickered rapidly, his body tilted backward, and he slumped instantly into the chair, losing consciousness.

The waiter looked at the old man, then at Qin Yike, and let out a piercing scream, "Ahhh!"
