Chapter 13: Getting Rich Overnight

“Dad.” Zuo Xianyu frowned and asked, “Did Grandpa really never mention Si Fuqing’s family to you?”

Zuo Tianfeng’s gaze darkened. “No. I asked a few questions, but your grandfather refused to speak of it. I truly never expected him to be so senile as to give away the family industries.”

Zuo Xianyu pursed her lips.

Old Master Zuo was a ruthless man in the business world; even toward his former friends, he was heartless, merging companies whenever he pleased. Yet, he had given the Zuo family's assets to Si Fuqing.

There had to be some hidden truth.

It wasn't until eight o'clock in the evening that Si Fuqing finally arrived.

As usual, she was wearing makeup, her eyeshadow quite exaggerated.

Zuo Xianyu frowned imperceptibly but still went to greet her. “Fuqing, you’re here. The traffic is a bit heavy at this hour.”

“It wasn't heavy, I just didn't have money, so I walked here. My legs hurt,” Si Fuqing said naturally as she sat down on the sofa. “Since you care so much about me, why don't you massage my legs?”

Zuo Xianyu nearly choked.

However, having been raised with socialite etiquette since childhood and having worked her way through the Zuo Group for three years, she was different from the easily provoked Zuo Qingya.

“Butler, bring me my new massager,” Zuo Xianyu said. “Qingqing is tired; let her rest.”

Si Fuqing leaned back on the sofa, allowing Zuo Xianyu to fit the massager onto her.

Mrs. Zuo’s eyes were practically spitting fire, but because of the matter regarding the inheritance, she forced herself to endure it.

“I called you here today because of your grandfather’s will,” Zuo Tianfeng said, his gaze dark but his tone relatively mild. “The old man left you 8% of the shares in Yuelan Jewelry and Jingcheng Real Estate, but you know yourself that you aren't cut out for business.”

“So, how about this: I’ll give you five million, and you transfer all of those to me. If you ever need help in the future, I will assist you.”

Si Fuqing glanced at the will on the table, the corners of her eyes lifting into a bright, brilliant curve. “Five million?”

She hadn't specifically studied business, but she knew exactly how high the market value of those two companies was.

Five million wouldn't even cover one percent.

“Big Brother, that’s quite unfair,” the second master of the Zuo family spoke up meaningfully from the side. “Are you bullying little Qing because she doesn't understand the market? Yuelan Jewelry alone has a market value of over three billion.”

“Add the 8% stake in Jingcheng Real Estate, and it’s hard to say it’s not worth at least ten billion. Aren't you just trying to get something for nothing?”

Zuo Tianfeng’s face darkened. “Zuo Tianqian!”

“How about this, little Qing? I only want the shares in Jingcheng Real Estate,” Zuo Tianqian said, ignoring Zuo Tianfeng and smiling with narrowed eyes. “I’ll give you three hundred million. How does that sound?”

“Three hundred million, huh? That is more than five million.” Si Fuqing blinked, looking quite naive to the world, but she spoke unhurriedly. “I’ll have to think about it carefully.”

Zuo Tianfeng’s face turned ashen.

He had intended to use five million to make Si Fuqing cough up Yuelan Jewelry and the shares, but Zuo Tianqian had to stick his nose in.

Wasn't he going to suffer a massive loss?

Si Fuqing stretched her shoulders and smiled lazily. “Since Second Uncle is offering more money, then—”

“Two billion! I want the shares for both Yuelan Jewelry and Jingcheng Real Estate.” Zuo Tianfeng’s eyes were sinister as he interrupted through gritted teeth. “Are you satisfied with that price?”

As soon as these words were spoken, Zuo Tianqian’s gaze also darkened slightly. He clicked his tongue. “As expected, Big Brother is generous, actually being able to produce two billion in liquid funds. I, your younger brother, am humbled.”

He had no intention of competing with Zuo Tianfeng for these two assets; he just wanted to cause trouble.

“Two billion, alright.” Si Fuqing’s eyelids lifted slightly, her demeanor calm and composed. “But, I have two more conditions.”

Zuo Tianfeng bit his gums until they bled, suppressing his rage. “Speak.”

“First, I want to see the old man. Second, I want to attend his funeral.” Si Fuqing propped her head up with her hand. “Otherwise, forget it.”

Upon hearing this, the members of the Zuo family looked at her in surprise.

These two conditions were as simple as they could be.

That was it?

Mrs. Zuo, however, could no longer endure it. She jumped up and began to curse. “You want to attend the funeral? Are you even worthy? You aren't a member of the Zuo family! If you had any sense, you would—”

“Mom.” Zuo Xianyu pressed down on Mrs. Zuo’s hand, stopping her next words. “If Fuqing wants to go, let her go.”

Mrs. Zuo was furious, the corners of her eyes flushed red with pure hatred.

Not only had Si Fuqing seduced her son, but she had also naturally taken 2 billion. She truly was shameless.

Zuo Tianfeng had formulated a plan in his mind and agreed. “Fine.”

Si Fuqing nodded and picked up a pen. Just as she was about to sign her name, she looked up again. “Where is the money?”

The veins on Zuo Tianfeng’s forehead throbbed, but he suppressed his outburst and ordered someone to bring an anonymous bank card.

Only after Si Fuqing put the bank card in her pocket did she sign her name.

Zuo Tianfeng finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Exchanging 2 billion for 20 billion was a very profitable deal.

“It’s quite late today, so just stay here tonight.” Zuo Tianfeng’s mood improved significantly. “Tomorrow evening, I’ll have Xianyu take you to see your grandfather. Oh, and Yuelan Jewelry just bought a mountain recently; that’s yours too. We’re family, don't refuse.”

He had someone bring another acquisition contract and placed it on the table.

Si Fuqing took it, her eyebrows arching. “A mine?”

“It is a mine.” Zuo Tianfeng stared at her intently. “If you're lucky, that mountain is worth several billion.”

“Several billion, huh? Then I’ll take it.” Si Fuqing stood up with the contract, smiling imperceptibly. “I hope this is the last time you invite me.”

After she went upstairs, Mrs. Zuo’s face collapsed instantly, and she shouted in anger, “Zuo Tianfeng, are you crazy?! Those were the Zuo family's assets to begin with! Why did you give her 2 billion?!”

“How could I let her take them so easily?” Zuo Tianfeng’s gaze grew even darker. “Just watch. In a while, she’ll have to spit it all back out to me.”

As the family was talking, the door was pushed open, and a figure stumbled in. “Dad, Mom, Xianyu.”

Zuo Tianfeng smelled a strong scent of alcohol and frowned. “Where have you been drinking again?”

“Ran into some young masters from the capital, so I had a few drinks,” Zuo Zonghe said. “I just heard you talking about Si Fuqing. Is she here today?”

Mrs. Zuo’s expression changed. “Zonghe!”

“It’s just playing around, Mom, don't take it seriously.” Zuo Zonghe knew what his mother was thinking and laughed. “What is there about her that’s worth my attention?”

When Old Master Zuo was still around, he could use flattering Si Fuqing as an excuse to get close to the old man.

Now?

She was worthless.

“Mom, do you have a room key?” Zuo Zonghe tilted his chin. “This person is about to be kicked out of the Zuo family anyway, so let me have some fun too, shall I?”

Seeing that he truly didn't care, Mrs. Zuo handed over a spare key. “Behave yourself.”

“I know, I know.” Zuo Zonghe waved his hand dismissively. “It’s not like I’ll play myself to death.”

Unable to argue with him, Mrs. Zuo said a few more words before returning to her bedroom.

At two in the morning, Zuo Zonghe stumbled upstairs, walked to Si Fuqing’s door, took out the spare key, and turned the lock.
