Chapter 55
Atop the high tower in the core area of the Furnace, standing majestically at the very summit, lay a magnificent and grand hall.
Four massive pillars stood around the perimeter of the hall, each with a floating orb of light suspended at its tip.
The four orbs emitted their own unique glows, representing the powers of the four fundamental elements: Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind.
The lights of these elements intertwined, forming an illusory and slightly distorted vision.
Within the vision, scenes shifted between beautiful vistas of blue skies, white clouds, and lush green grass, and dark abysses of shattered space that seemed to devour everything, evoking a sense of unease and mystery.
At this moment, several figures stood within the hall, exuding powerful and terrifying auras; without exception, they were all official Wizards.
Standing closest to the distorted vision was a single figure—Archmage Helen.
Archmage Helen’s expression was solemn, his gaze heavy. He turned and stared deeply at the seat located at the very top of the hall.
That seat was distinctly different from common chairs; it was meticulously carved from special materials, with a mural embedded in its backrest.
The mural depicted a massive eyeball with a deep pupil and eyelids slightly parted, as if it were watching the entire world at any given moment.
Archmage Helen took a deep breath and said in a low, resonant voice, "Spirit of the Furnace, please! Activate the teleportation formation! Connect the two worlds!"
The Spirit of the Furnace was, in fact, a spiritual entity that controlled the core formation of the Furnace.
To speak of the essence of the Furnace, one had to discuss Wizard Towers.
Whether it was the Furnace of a Black Wizard or the High Tower of a White Wizard, their essence was actually a Wizard Tower; only the names differed.
And the Furnace before them was formally known as the "Spirit-Eye Furnace."
In essence, this Wizard Tower was the core area of the Furnace, while other areas were added later.
For a Level 4 Morning Star Wizard, every Level 4 Wizard would establish their own power base.
It could be an organization similar to a Wizard Academy, like the White Heart High Tower, or a power as formidable as a war machine, like this Spirit-Eye Furnace.
The fundamental reason for establishing a Wizard Tower was power amplification!
The existence of a Wizard Tower could enhance the strength of a Level 4 Wizard; the more Wizards within the tower and the deeper its foundation, the stronger the amplification effect of the tower would be.
Furthermore, the souls of Morning Star Wizards would become increasingly powerful under this magical amplification.
This was precisely why, despite being a war machine, the Spirit-Eye Furnace maintained an extremely friendly attitude toward official Wizards.
This was because as the number of official Wizards increased, the foundation of the Wizard Tower would strengthen, and correspondingly, the soul of the Tower Master would receive amplification.
Some factions, such as the White Heart High Tower, chose to establish systems similar to Wizard Academies to cultivate their own official Wizards.
The Spirit-Eye Furnace, however, took a different path.
While the number of official Wizards here was not small, the number of Wizards cultivated by the Furnace itself was extremely limited.
Most Wizards were absorbed from other factions through warfare.
This approach had a significant advantage: extremely rapid expansion, as there was no need to cultivate Wizards from scratch.
While the Master of the White Heart High Tower had taken five hundred years to build their foundation, the Spirit-Eye Furnace had caught up to their strength in less than two hundred years.
However, the methods of the Spirit-Eye Furnace also harbored a massive hidden danger.
Although the Furnace Wars were raging and official Wizards were flocking to join, once the Furnace encountered a subversive crisis, the loyalty of these outsider Wizards would be cause for concern; most would likely choose to leave or even side with the opposition.
Therefore, cultivating one's own official Wizards and absorbing outsider Wizards were two different strategic choices.
Most Level 4 powers would adopt both paths simultaneously.
But the reason the Spirit-Eye Furnace chose this path was that it opted for a radical approach, unwilling to waste time and energy cultivating a batch of official Wizards.
Because of this, there was almost no one within the entire Spirit-Eye Furnace who could truly be called a confidant of the Furnace Master.
To fill this void, the Furnace Master made a startling decision—he tore apart a portion of his own soul to create the core of the Furnace, namely the Spirit of the Furnace, to manage all the affairs of the Furnace.
Only in this way could the Furnace Master truly rest easy, ensuring that everything remained under his control.
Previously, Archmage Helen had communicated with the Furnace Master, and now was the moment to call the Furnace Master back.
Although the Furnace Master could return independently, this time he would bring back all of his power, as the mutation in the Great Forest of Emerald Island required his full attention.
Therefore, the Spirit of the Furnace needed to release the power of the Wizard Tower to connect the two worlds...
As Archmage Helen's voice fell, the eyelids on the mural suddenly closed.
A moment later, the eye opened again, and a strange light flickered within the pupil.
As the light flashed, glowing tiles suddenly appeared on the floor one after another.
Each tile seemed to possess a certain mysterious energy, emitting a pressure during its flickering that made it difficult to look at directly.
With a sharp gaze, Archmage Helen spoke again: "Everyone, enter the formation! Augment the formation!"
The Wizard Tower of the entire core area stood like a giant pillar piercing the clouds, emitting a staggering radiance.
Years of accumulated energy erupted in an instant, as if a torrent had suddenly been unleashed!
In the center of the hall, the vision formed by the intertwining elements of Earth, Water, Fire, and Wind suddenly solidified, transforming into a distorted spatial tunnel.
Through that tunnel, figures emerged like a tide, their steps firm and their auras powerful.
There were both official Wizards and Wizard Apprentices here, and every single one of them was permeated with a thick killing intent.
These were the experts who had once fought alongside the Furnace Master in another world.
However, to deal with the sudden crisis in the Great Forest of Emerald Island, the Furnace Master had made a decisive choice: he abandoned all battlefronts and recalled the majority of his main force.
After all, the coordinates of that world were fixed and could be invaded later; the turmoil in the Great Forest of Emerald Island was the true threat—if they couldn't withstand it now, there would be no future!
Among the group of Wizards emerging, there was a graceful figure familiar to Lynn—it was his beautiful mentor, Rosalind.
This also explained why Lynn had often been unable to contact her recently; it turned out she had long since departed for another world!
Boom!
The vast procession stepped out of the spatial tunnel one by one. The Wizard Apprentices knew better than to linger in the hall, heading straight for the exit.
Only the true official Wizards were permitted to remain within this hall.
Even so, in just a few moments, the entire hall was almost entirely occupied by the figures of these Wizards.
Suddenly, a loud crack, like the tearing of space, rang out. That seemingly indestructible spatial tunnel appeared to have encountered an unknown force and began to fracture!
Seeing this, Archmage Helen's expression changed drastically.
If the spatial tunnel shattered, even a Level 3 Archmage like him would be torn to shreds by the spatial turbulence in an instant; no magic could save him!
However, amidst the tense gazes of everyone, a pair of hands, white as jade, suddenly reached out.
Immediately following, an endless surge of mental strength erupted, instantly stabilizing the fracturing spatial tunnel.
Within the broken spatial tunnel, a figure slowly walked toward the hall, emitting a terrifying aura!
The person wore a long black robe, and their entire body exuded a chilling air. A high hood almost completely obscured their face.
The only visible features were a pair of eyes—there were no pupils, only hollow whites, filled with indifference and ruthlessness.
As that gaze swept across the room, all the official Wizards immediately bowed respectfully, and the atmosphere instantly became incredibly heavy.
Because the individual appearing in the hall was none other than the controller of the Furnace—the Master of the Spirit-Eye Furnace!
