After about half an hour, Chen Xiao saw Xu Wu come out, still looking as arrogant as a peacock displaying its feathers. Chen Xiao could faintly hear her muttering, "Inviting me to dinner? You're not worthy."

It seemed the meeting hadn't gone very well. When she saw Chen Xiao, her eyes darted around and she said intentionally, "Chen Xiao, let's grab a meal sometime!"

*Holy crap, you're setting me up!* Chen Xiao reacted instantly. As she happened to pass by him, Chen Xiao, in a fit of retaliation, slapped the "full moon" behind her back and shouted, "Fine! I'm at your beck and call!"

With a loud *slap*, Chen Xiao hadn't expected it to be so crisp and bouncy. Xu Wu was visibly stunned; she froze for a moment before erupting in fury, ready to lash out, but Chen Xiao had already bolted toward the entrance of Manager Yang's office.

Before he entered the door, Chen Xiao saw Xu Wu bring her hand to the tip of her nose to sniff. Her face turned bright red, and she cursed inwardly, "That bastard! I've spent my whole life guarding against wolves, only to end up getting nipped by a wolf cub!"

Once inside the office, Chen Xiao knew today was a lost cause. That Manager Yang, whose full name was Yang Ming, was the Vice President of Sales at China Inspection Equipment Co. When Chen Xiao entered, Yang didn't even stand up; he sat leisurely in the main seat of the sofa, shrouded in clouds of cigarette smoke. Seeing Chen Xiao, he simply pointed to the sofa, signaling him to sit.

"Is Xiao Chen quite close with President Xu?" Yang Ming was in his 40s, and half the hair on his head was already gone.

*Close, my ass. I don't even know what her actual position is,* Chen Xiao thought, smiling. "We're alright, we chat occasionally!"

"Oh? What kind of chatting?"
